Boxers to Battle in Three Title Fights at Menominee Nation Arena
(OSHKOSH, Wis.) – It’s been decades since area boxing fans have been able to watch live bouts in Oshkosh. But, boxing returns to the city April 28 with three title fights at Menominee Nation Arena. “The Undisputed Truth” night of championship boxing starts at 7 p.m.
In the main event, Duarn “The Storm” Vue, the first Hmong boxing champion in history, takes on Nehomar Cermeno of Venezuela for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental Featherweight Championship. The social media announcement of Vue’s fight went viral in the last couple of weeks, with thousands of fans sharing the post, a testament to his popularity in and out of the ring.
The evening’s two other title fights also feature stars from McFarland, Wis.-based Supreme Hits: Deonte “Bomaye” Wilson, defending his World Boxing Federation (WBF) Super Lighweight USA Championship, and Cesar Ruiz, looking to take the WBF North American Junior Regional Middleweight Championship.
The event includes eight fights in eight weight classes, including heavyweight. World champion boxing legend Cory Spinks also will make a special appearance.
Menominee Nation Arena has just announced availability of VIP packages. With the purchase of 3 VIP level tickets, the 4th is free. VIP tickets include ringside seats; exclusive access to the pre-fight weigh-in Friday evening, April 27; and a VIP pre-party from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. the afternoon of the fight.
